    The representative of Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was named

    On January, 28 Spanish telebroadcasting company RTVE  has summed up competition “ Operacion Triunfo 3 ”. 18-years old Ramón from Canary Islands became the winner. Now he will represent Spain on the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. On May, 15 at Istanbul Ramón will act with a song “ Para Llenarme De Ti ”.

     In total four participants have taken part in the final of competition - Davinia, Miguel, Ramón and Vicente. The winner has been chosen by televoting. Results of voting:

    TRT has decided to change a place of hosting 49-th Eurovision Song Contest 2004

    TRT  has made the decision to replace a place of hosting 49-th Eurovision Song Contest 2004. Mydonese Showland have found too small hall for such action. Now a place of hosting the Contest will Abdi Ipekçi Sports Hall. TRT and EBU  have already concluded the contract with administration of this hall.

     Abdi Ipekçi Sports Hall  has been constructed at the end of  80-s’, but recently modernized. It is capable to contain 15 000 person in a hall though, presumably, has problems with acoustics. Apparently, these problems have been successfully solved.

    Real capacity of  Abdi Ipekçi will be about 10 000 spectators. Thus, the full number of viewers will be increase more than three times (Mydonese Showland could contain 3 000 person only). It good, because enables the more number of fans of the Eurovision to view the Contest personally, instead of record. By the way, under messages from TRT, tickets will cost from 30 up to 150 € (At the last year its price was about 600€). Sale of tickets will begin after February, 9.     Design of a stage of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004

    Representatives of  36 various countries, cultures and religions will appear on stage at Abdi Ipekçi at May, “ Under the same sky ”.

     Organizers of show want, that spectators became witnesses of fireworks of colors and shapes. The hall where the contest will pass, has the good view of a stage from all places. The stage will give to actors a lot of place for lighting effects, which will accompany their performances.

     By the plan of designers, the stage should associate with images of the world famous monuments of turkish architecture - the Haya Sofya and the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Istanbul is similar to city from magic fairy tales of Arabian Nights, but with the tolerant and peace population, which includes representatives of various cultures. Pleasure and respect - the basic values which are valuable for the city dwellers.

     The center of a stage, similarly to middle nave at cathedral or the large prayer room of a mosque, should become the center of attention. The dome consisting from “minarets of light”, frames this structure and will simultaneously give depth to the project. It is supposed, that a prototype of the project was the Blue Mosque and its 256 glass windows. Whether the external circle of a stage will be made on its similarity, time will show .

     For now there are only models of a stage. They are little abstruse now, but beautiful at any case. To see, how all this will be realized actually, it is necessary to wait simply till May, 12. So.

    The new emblem of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 has appeared

    On January, 24, 2004 the turkish TV (TRT) announced a new logo of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. Now the logo will not vary every year, but will be same.

    The new emblem includes a symbol of heart in word Eurovision. This heart symbolizes all those good emotions which arise at Europeans every year at viewing competition. Inside the heart there is a flag of the country which carries out the Contest at this year. By the way, the flag symbolizes not only the country, but also fans, who support the their performer, swinging national flags. Vivacity and ease, with which pass the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, symbolized by a font of word Eurovision.

    Athena group has named song with which will act

    Turkish televiewers have chosen song with which group  Athena  will represent Turkey on the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 at Istanbul. It is a song “For Real ”.

     Athena  has presented to spectators three songs -“Easy man”, “I love mud on my face ” and “For real ”. All songs were performed on English. Voices of televiewers were allocated as follows:

    The representative of Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was named

    On January, 24 the final of the Finnish competition “Euroviisut 2004” has ended. Jari Sillanpää had become the winner . He had collected about 36 % of all voices.

     In total 12 songs and performers have taken part in the final . It passed at two stages. At first stage six juries, representing various areas of Finland, have selected 6 songs which have been again executed at the second stage. After that final voting, which has defined the winner, has been carried out. Voices were allocated as follows:

     On May, 12 at Istanbul Jari Sillanpää will perform “Takes 2 to Tango” song.

    The representative of Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was named

    On January, 24 at Warsaw, in Torwar Hall, the Polish National Final has been carried out. The winner became Blue Cafe group. Voting was possible both by phone, and by SMS. Results of the Final:

    The representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was named

    On January, 15 the singer who will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina on the 49-th Eurovision Song Contest 2004 has been named. This singer - Deen.

     Deen has been chosen by jury which has consisted from 21 persons. Besides him, four more performers took part in selection - Nermin Puskar, Tinka, Igor Vukojeviс, Said Jusice. But Deen was the best in opinion of jury.

     The true name of the singer - Fuad Backovic. At present he has released one solo album and participated in record of  four more (two of which his former group - Seven Up - has released). The singer not for the first time takes part in the Bosnian selection competition for the Eurovision. At 1999 group Seven Up has taken the third place. At 2001 Deen already independently acted at selection competition, but has taken only the seventh place. On competition of  2003 he has taken the second place, having conceded the first place to Mija Martina.

     Now Deen should present to RTV (BiH) six songs, from which only one song will be chosen for Istanbul. It is supposed, that this choice will manage to be made with the help of televoting in spite of the fact that the last years with it there were technical problems. The result of a choice becomes known on March, 6, 2004.

    Applicants for a role of representative of Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004

    On BTRC web-site the list of applicants for the role of the future representative of  Belarus on the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was published. On the First National telechannel of  Belorus the final of  National Competition of singers will be broadcast on January, 31, 2004. On it 15 performers, whom had chosen by jury on results of a semifinal, will act. The winner will be determined by televoting.

     It 59 competitors have taken part in a semifinal of  National Competition. Their list:
